Along the Journey Weekly Roundup #10: Yakezie Guest Post Edition

by Mike on April 6, 2010

Every Tuesday, I will post a link roundup of articles I’ve found while researching the Internet.

A few weeks ago, I explained the yellow & black badge on the right sidebar as an indication that I have joined the Yakezie challenge. The challenge is going great! I’ve met some awesome personal finance bloggers and there is a real sense of collaboration and community involvement. For the rest of this week, I’m going to publish guest posts from 3 fellow Yakezie members. Let me tell you, all of these posts are GREAT, so you’re in for a treat. I’m scheduled to be away at a conference for the remainder of the week, but I will check in as time allows.

Last week, Mrs. Money shared a very personal story of the emotional stress that borrowed money can put on a friendship. Unfortunately the situation has not improved. She updated us and asks the question: What Would You Do?

How to Deal With Your Creditors – David Style was a guest post on Bible Money Matters. It is a story of gigantic debt that I’m sure at one point many of us could relate to…myself included. The giant (your debt & creditors) may seem big and intimidating, but its time to grab your slingshot and stones and slay the giant!

Good Steward Keys wrote an excellent article called To Tithe or Not to Tithe. It’s not so much about rather or not you should tithe…but instead focuses on which income should and should not be included when tithing.

One Money Design has started a series called Budget Busters. The first part in the 3-part series is Saving Money on Food. Something I am currently working on!

Flexo, from Consumerism Commentary informs us that FreeCreditReport.com no longer offers “free” credit reports. Good! Maybe now people will get the genuinely free reports from AnnualCreditReport.com

Hi Lakita!

I love the design of your blog! Very cool.

I’m a fellow yakezie member myself (fairly new), and I am looking forward to pursuing the challenge. I would love for you to come check out my blog sometime, and send me any feedback you have! I’ll be sure to keep tabs on your blog and link over when I can. Thanks!

Lakita! Thanks for including me in this weeks round up. I’ve truly enjoyed the collaboration with our fellow Yakezie Challenge bloggers and I’m definitely honored to have been a guest writer on Bible Money Matters this week!

BTW- Business or pleasure conference?

Carlos,

The collaboration has been awesome! Both articles were so on point!

The conference is a little bit of both. It’s a women’s conference ~ I’m scheduled as a speaker and also teaching / leading the worship dancers. There is also a business / networking component.

Cool. We just wrapped up a Faith & Vision conference at our church. I got a ton of inspiration for some future posts. Have a great time and drop that word and worship on them!
